Amendments to several Slovak laws concerning taxes and other levies entered into force on January 1st, 2014. Once more, the intent of current government is that these changes should increase revenues for the budget. The fact that they will lead to an even higher tax burden, especially for small and medium-sized businesses, is acknowledged by the Social Democrat Government.
